I had gotten used to the infernal itching that accompanied it and usually tried to ease it by using a cold compress or rinsing my face with cold water. That, of course, was a problem if was at work and had nothing on hand. By chance, during my regular trips to the Body Shop, I came across this gel which claimed to cool and moisturize sensitive skin. Obviously it ticked all the boxes for me so I bought a tube to try out at home. Definitely a case of truth in advertising since it helped me a lot with the itchiness. A drawback is it leaves you with a slightly tight feeling on your face which can be alleviated if you apply it while your skin is still damp. After the contact dermatitis cleared up I still used the gel under my moisturizer and voila...my face is much less oily throughout the day. Bearing in mind I apply a primer (MAC Prep + Prime Natural Radiance) before makeup but I've noticed a definite difference in how long my makeup lasts. There's less oiliness in my T-Zone and my cheeks don't have that bright shiny appearance that arrives around midday.
