The only issue I have is with the quality of the nails. The Superflex technology is actually a downfall of these nails, for me. I have read many reviews before trying the nails for the first time and expected to have nails that I can use like my natural nails. I'm no construction worker so I wasn't expecting miracles. I was however expecting it to withstand simple daily activities. I applied it before bed and on waking the next morning I saw a slight bend in one of the nails. I kind of filed it away and it looked good again. The real test came when I was dressing. I was putting a tight T-shirt and when I was done two of the nails were bent or had a chip in (see picture). Not good. I appreciate that the nails are flexible, but it can't be this flimsy either. Unfortunately not very effective for me. I saw my cousin rocking some trendy nails a while back that looked glossy, perfectly shaped and neat; even after a day of hiking and swimming. I was so impressed and asked for her manicurist’s number, what she did was hand me a little plastic bottle instead. The bottle is a bigger replica of a nail polish bottle in clear plastic, with a black twist-off lid that resembles the lid of a nail polish bottle. I choose a pretty pastel pink design with white flowers and silver glitter. This press on-manicure is essentially a mini kit as it comes with 24 nail sizes, a prep pad and a mini nail file. The plastic box that contains all the contents has writing done in black, pink and white; this gives the overall image a very famine and sophisticated look. The prep pad is an acetone soaked pad that’s used to clean the nail of any oily residue whist the nail file has two sides used to buff and file nails. The nails have no pull tabs that break-off but I did find the slightest of raises on the edge, this makes pulling the sticker protector off so easy. The whole process was pretty simple: First pick out the nail sizes that correspond to your natural nail size. Then use the green side of the nail file to gently buff the nail surface to allow for a coarse surface that allows the nail to stick to the now rough texture. Clean the nail and area around the nail bed with the prep pad. Once nails have been buffed and prepped, peel the transparent tab under the artificial nail and push the artificial nail onto your own nail. Hold down with some pressure for at least to the count of 15. Release the pressure and the artificial nail should be stuck onto your own nail. The artificial nail feels a bit weird and thick at first but is way more comfortable than the conventional glue on fake nails. This mini kit is great for when you need stand-out nails and quick, buying many colours and patterns means you can design and co-ordinate every nail differently but within a theme. They offer many plain colour options as well as the classic French or daring and wild lace, animal print and cracked effects. The removing process was relatively easy, just gently tug on the nail and then pour some nail polish remover over the nail or use a piece of foil wrapped around the finger filled with nail polish remover. Once off, there’s no residue stuck on your natural nails and no damage either. I didn’t get a chance to test the wear ability of the nails as I only could find sizes that fitted onto 4 fingers! I have a very tiny nail bed and so artificial nails don’t work for me, I was so amazed at this kit though and with its 24 sizes was sure I could’ve found sizes hence made the rash purchase. Because I couldn’t get a full hands worth I didn’t leave the four adorned nails on but have included photos of how they look on. They retail between R99.95 and R149.99 depending on the style you choose and whether the store stocking them are having any specials. Because I had to hunt for sizes, the lengths were all off on my nails which I didn’t appreciate. The stickers are on a clear piece of plastic which makes selecting the correct size easy as you can put it over your nail to see what fits best. I found that applying the stickers was a bit challenging as I couldn't get them to line up straight with my nail, and I had to fiddle around with them a bit to get them into position. Even then they weren't perfect, but looked okay. Essence advises you to put a top coat over them to seal them, so I used my old Essence Better Than Gel Nails top coat. I was not impressed as the top coat didn't seem to stick too well to the stickers, and after a day and a half it had started peeling off over the sticker. This obviously caused the little rhinestones to come off, and then the tips of the stickers started peeling. After three days my nails looked terrible and I had to take them off. That was quite easy as they just peeled off. Pros - low price - quicker than painting a french tip - rhinestones look pretty - easy to remove - big range of sizes as there are 28 stickers Cons - can be a bit tricky to line them up correctly - my top coat didn't stick to the sticker too well - they only lasted 2 days before looking too tatty - you have to have long nails to start with I might try them again with a different top coat and see if that makes them last longer. I am a huge fan of Acrylic nails and I've learnt how to perfect acrylic nails at home. However before I learnt how to master it, I purchased this KISS French Acrylic Kit to try it out. The kit contained: 44 French tips in different sizes Speed set glue Acrylic powder Acrylic liquid Mini nail file Cuticle rose wood stick Sculpture brush Other things you will need: Paper towelettes Pure acetone Top coat Nail buffer Tip cutter or nail clipper A dampen dish or a tot glass Cuticle oil The process is quite simple, but can get a little bit hard, you use the cuticle stick to push back cuticles, and a mini nail file which is used to roughen the nail bed so the acrylic can last longer on nails. And the hard work begins. Once nails have been roughened, find the perfect shapes for nail tips and use the nail glue to apply a small amount of nail glue to the well on the tip (the well is where you apply glue) and place on finger and hold for around 30 seconds. Repeat the process for one hand, once completed use a tip cutter or a nail clipper to clip down the tips to your size. It would be easier to use a tip cutter, mainly because its meant to cut artificial tips while a nail clipper is meant for natural nail tips, and a nail cutter can loosen the glue. Once your nails are cut to the desired length, file them into a square or rounded tip which you like. Once completed, do the same for the next hand, once you've completed both hands. The hard work just gets tougher. Set the paper towelettes around so you don't make a mess and begin. Pour a small amount of acrylic liquid into a shooter or tot glass, and open the acrylic powder, using the sculpture brush, dip the tip in the acrylic liquid and swipe on the edge of shooter glass so that there isn't too much on the brush. Then sweep the brush across the powder, and a small ball will form. Place the ball on the tip and press down using the brush. Once you've completed it on a tip form another ball for the middle and then the cuticle. DON'T ALLOW ACRYLIC TO TOUCH CUTICLES! Once you've completed the process, allow acrylic to dry and repeat for all nails. Your nails will have a whitish look on it. Tap the end of the sculpture brush against the acrylic to see if it dry, you will hear a tapping sound. Now take the nail file which has a slightly lighter filing side and file over acrylic to give it a smooth feeling, and then buff over nails to give acrylic a smooth shiny finish. I would then recommend you apply a top coat for a high finish shine and apply cuticle oil to cuticles because acrylic is very damaging towards cuticles.I would also recommend you dip your brush in acetone to remove any hard bits of acrylic and keep clean, store kit away for further use. I would recommend you give this product a try, it retails for R240 and can give you a good three or four manicures. I apply these nails over my natural nails when my nails are too short and don't look very neat either (mainly after I remove acrylics or when I clip my nails really short) I've tried all brands of artificial nails, but this one happens to be the best I've come across, I change the glue to a stronger professional glue, which actually allows my artificial nails to last up to 2 weeks. Plus due to the buffed surface on the artificial nails, my polish lasts longer and is always chip free. These nails are quite long and you can adjust them to any size, simply clip them and file them, and you'll have perfectly manicured nails within minutes! It was super easy to use and adds a lot of personality and drama to nails. I used the cracked effect stickers for my Halloween Themed Party and was floored with the results. Not only were the sizes perfect, it was also so simple to apply and shape and lasted a considerable amount of time. I used a little clear nail glue to seal the edge of my nail after the stickers were applied as to keep it from fraying but found that i didnt actually need this. The stickers did begin to fade after a week and eventually had to be taken off on day13 of wear.
