I bought the one for brunettes because, well, I am brunette. The compact comes in a plastic case with different coloured strips of shimmery powder. I find that if I use a powder brush, it is easy to pick up a lot of product, and the colour payoff is great (I have used the more bronze side of the compact as my actual bronzer). By sweeping my brush along the middle of the palette, I get a unique pink-bronze, which is perfect for blush. I have also used an eyeshadow brush to use the strips as individual colours for my eyes, or the lightest shade as a highlighter. As I have been dabbling in bronzer more and more, I realized I prefer a matte bronzer and a slightly shimmery blush, so for me, this compact is reserved mostly for eyes and blush. I like that this product is multi-use, so it's great for travel. The powder blends well and goes on smoothly. Whats great is its size (compact and travel size), and it obviously aligns with other Maybelline products AND its in-expensive, however, it took me at least 5 minutes to figure out how it opens! It was possibly because I was half asleep early in the morning, however, once I figured it out - It really was nice and quite 'edgy' if you could say. I settled on Plum Wine which is seems quite dark in the pot but when applied it's the perfect shade of pink for my skin tone. This blush is creamy and pigmented and goes on smooth. It's a soft peachy, golden blush, and seemed the perfect shade for summer, when I have a tan. While the colour goes on beautifully, and blends really well, it just DOES NOT LAST on my skin. I have been on the look out for a great quality blush and affordable of course, for quite sometime now so I was very pleased to have won this blush in a competition with some other Catrice goodies. I have had my eye on the Catrice brand for some time now and have heard a lot of beauty bloggers raving about how amazing and great quality their products are, I was super excited to see how well this blush worked for me. ??Firstly the packaging is really adorable, its clean,simple and convenient to travel with in my makeup bag. I noticed while swatching the blush at how silky smooth it felt,which is also great!I have never used a powder blush before,because I have very dry skin and try to stay clear of powdered makeup products as much as I can, I have been using a Bobbi Brown cream blush but I needed a go to blush for everyday use that was affordable and this Catrice blush didn’t fail to deliver. I found that The Catrice blush was very pigmented which is good as I would hate to use a lot of product and barely seeing any results.. It lasted a normal amount of time on my cheeks ( about 12 hours ) the good thing is that it didn’t leave my skin with any breakouts as I am sure many of you ladies are concerned which budget friendly products at how they react to your skin. I also really love the shade I was given which was not a bright pink its more of a mix between pink and coral.
