The formula is wonderful- it absorbs very quickly and doesn't leave any residue at all. I also find that it makes my skin feel soft and hydrated. Its dimpled and not smooth. I was extremely excited to get offered the Elancyl Cellu Slim Night to review by Beauty Bulletin! The packaging is in typical Elancyl green and the tub is a lovely big size, although I prefer a tube to having to dip my fingers into a tub. The reason for the tub is this is a thickish cream and not a gel, like I am used to. It is a beige cream with a not unpleasant woodsy scent. It rubs in fairly easily, although it does leave you a little sticky ( my hubby's complaint, not mine ; ). I have been using it for a month. I wanted to use it for a full month before posting this review, so that I could give it a fair chance to work. To be honest, as far as slimming and cellulite removal is concerned, I have noticed no difference. The box actually has a diagram on the inside of the lid, explaining how it should be applied. It shows how it should be applied to your legs and butt area, but not the tummy. Since my legs and butt are fine due to lots of exercise, I have been applying it to my tummy and tried to use the same sort of strokes drawn in the diagram. I have used it faithfully every night as recommended. I do notice lovely soft skin in the morning when I wake up, due to the Safflower and Evening Primrose Oils, but this product is a little pricey just for that. The tub will last you quite a long time since I am only just under half way through it after a month, but unfortunately this product hasn't showed any signs of firming up the tummy or getting rid of cellulite. I had such high hopes too! Sadly, I cant recommend this product, though perhaps it was only designed for thighs and butts and that is why it didn't work on me. My upper arms which is a little flabby with stretch marks and my upper thighs. Those two areas are my main concerns and I would notice if something changes there. I have been using this cream for a few weeks now and I can especially see a smoothness and more-supple like appearance on my upper arms. Bonus for me as summer is around the corner and this product will help achieve my goal of wearing lovely, cool summer tops. I also noticed that my upper thighs are a little smoother. In the sense that the cellulite and stretch marks are just a little lighter. Look I know this is no miracle product that will melt away my imperfections, lumps and bumps overnight, BUT I am happy when I can see an improvement in an area that I had long ago given up as a bad day job. The cream itself is white and has a very light consistency with a lovely fresh scent. It applies very easily and I have found that it works best when you massage it into the area you want to target. I had come from a visit in Joburg where I use to live before I moved to Cape Town. I always had skin problems in Joburg - the weather there is very dry and in winter it is much worse! The skin on my neck, right underneath my jaw line for some reason suffered the most! It was some kind of Eczema outbreak! Unite the nations under my chin! That is when I started using other Cetaphil products. To this day I use the gentle skin cleanser and I would never change! So when I saw that these products need a review I jumped for that band wagon! I have very dry skin in winter (as explained above) but I don't suffer from the terrible outbreak of eczema anymore (thankfully). When I first started using these products my skin felt like Namibian sand deserts on a bad day. In only one week I already felt the difference by using these products together. I even, for one week, just used the body wash and did not moisturize afterwards with the moisturizer. My skin still felt amazing and moisturized! However, I would suggest using these products together as, a few days after that week of non-moiturization, I was feeling the itch of the desert returning. Another good point to add about this product is that it saves chilblains victims. I call myself a victim because this is the worse thing that happens in winter!I wish it for no one! Chilblains or winter hands happen to people with really bad blood circulation. Basically your finger and toes puff up to the size of German sausages and you have inflammation in every joint - not a pretty sight! Your skin is also very dry and in severe cases, cracks open! Yeah....not the most fun thing to suffer from. And so, when I started using the moisturizer, I would put a bit extra on my hands, and voila! My chilblains were healed! I do take pills for it as well, but this time it healed faster than ever! So for this, I am very impressed by this cream! Shaving was another test for me. I used the body wash as a shaving cream and it really does wonders for those annoying little ingrown oompa loompa's. My legs felt more moisturized as well! All in all the products are great! It comes in 2 sizes, 15ml and 100ml It is quite Pricey but works out much cheaper if you buy the 100ml I hadn't saved up enough to buy the 100ml so I bought 2 of the smaller tubes. 1 small tube will last 3-4 weeks. So I'd been using it for about 2 months. It's a lightweight cream that gets absorbed quite quickly and isn't greasy at all. An aesthetician once said that some makeup artists use it as a base/primer and it works great. I had been using it just before i gave birth and it really gave me the confidence to see people without wearing any makeup. I just had a baby, there was no way I could be bothered about makeup. So it really helped me, within 2 weeks I could see my stubborn dark acne scars getting lighter. After 2 months they were barely noticeable. The only downfall is the price. I remember the contents was a yellowish, musk smelling oily substance that you just massage into the areas you would like to target. Initially you will fell some burning sensation (use after having taken a bath)but this is temporary and a clear sign that it is working. The ingredients include a whole lot of great herbs (cannot remember the names of all of them but I know Rooibos is one) which is very good for skin and detoxing the body of all the nasty things that make skin look dull and un healthy. Its an amazing product that I feel is both a summer and winter essential. Used during summer its for obvious reasons, to keep you looking your best in those leg and thigh head-turners. It took about 9 days for me to visibly see results but I felt the results within the first 3 days. My mindset was completely changed when I started feeling a firmer slightly less dimpled effect as the days passed. I began to feel more confident and daring. The box does describe this product as "fluidifying slimming" and after a full 3month usage I realised what thta meant. A slight reduction in centimetres was noticed and a much more shaped and firmer resulted was shown. My thighs have a much smoother consistency and firmer elasticity. In winter, this product will REALLY benefit, after all the soups, creamy cappucinos and warmed bread. During the colder months rarely does one have that srong compelling urge to bounce to the gym rigously. That is where this product starts its work. Being prone to cuddling, sitting and spooning during this time leave more time for food to hit the lips and the results to show on the hips. This AntiCellulite cream is a great "pre-cautionary" tool in maintaining your shape and body. Give or take 3-4 months of cold, once its time to hit the beach your body will bear almost no reminders of the Winter delicacies. Now onto the actual product... The cream is similiar to that of a lotion and is white in colour. It is extremely easy to apply and is absorbed fairly quickly into the skin. I advise to not using any other product over this as to not counter-act its ingredients. By doing this though, skin in that desired area does tend to get a little drier from the rest of your body. The smell is very distinct and unique, this is due to its all NATURAL ingredients. Its something similiar to Star Anise and does linger a while after application (approximately 2-3 hours) but is very faint. While applying the cream you will feel it cool and refreshing, revitalizing if you must. Its best to apply this in circular motions to help with the drainage effect that happens under the skin. A burning and or tingling sensation does occur shortly after application and can last throughout the day. This at times is slightly un-comfortable, especially if you spend most of your time sitting. I use this product because I have extremely dry and sensitive skin, and this balm so so natural and fragrance free, it's perfect for worrying skin. The balm is slightly thick, however once applied to skin (apply a thin layer) and massage into warm skin well, the product leaves no residue or sticky or oily feeling.
