The shadow itself is the reason UD tops my list of favorites for eye shadow. Its powdery soft texture goes on pigmented and lasts all day. It blends so seamlessly with minimal effort that its perfect for beginners and experienced alike. The palette is great for building a blended rose eyeshadow and I find myself reaching for this set quite often, both for day and night looks. The lighter shades do require an extra stroke or two to show the colour, but that is expected for lighter shades. I like that some of the darker colours are shimmery which is great for the evening. The palette itself fits in my make-up bag so I can carry it with me which is really convenient. I also love that I'm not left with a fine powder on my eyelashes or on my cheeks after applying, the product is fuss-free. Two weeks ago I decided to order the Morphe 35O eyeshadow palette. I had heard all kinds of rave over Morphe palettes, but the brand seemed to come right out of thin air. Beauty bloggers I follow religiously began awing over the palettes. Beauty bloggers promote websites all the time that are not reliable so I was extremely skeptical. After reading a lot of good reviews of the company, I took the leap of faith to invest in my own beautiful Morphe eyeshadow palette. The second I used my palette, I felt soooo in love. When I first opened my package I did notice one thing about this palette that was different from most of my others. It was EXTREMELY basic. Just a plain black case, light weight, and no mirror. I feel like this is what drove the price for these palettes down a lot. Every time I use it I feel like I have to treat it delicately. The packaging really doesn't bother me because I don't use the mirror in eyeshadow palettes anyway and I'm not a rough monster while opening my makeup. The palette contains 35 eyeshadow colors, including shimmer and matte shades. This palette is perfect for Fall makeup looks. Upon receiving the palette I was worried that some of the colors would be difficult to see or difficult to blend, but boy was I wrong. Every color I swatched exceeded my expectations. The only thing that slightly bothered my about the shadows was that there were no names for them. When people ask me what shades I've used for my makeup I just have to respond with "oh, the color in row 5 spot 4," and it is just a little complicated, but pretty easy to get over. The shadows are very pigmented and creamy. I love the way they all swatched. Overall, I love the palette. It has found itself winning a battle between it and my other favorite shadow palettes. I have found myself using it in almost all of my daily makeup looks. The price of this palette made it even more worth it. Although a few of the colours look similar to the Naked palette in the pan, the quality and colour payoff certainly isn't. There are a few shades that I use now and then (I like the lightest one to highlight my brow bone), and some of the shimmery shades apply quite nicely as they seem to be a bit creamier than the matte shades (strange, I know). I definitely don't use all the colours in the pan, and I find the deeper ones to look a bit strange on my skin, since you really have to apply quite a lot of product to get a shade similar to what it looks like in the pan ( I haven't tried this with a white primer/base, perhaps this could help?) Apart from being disappointed in the colour payoff of some shades, there are a few rosy pinks that I do like and use together with some higher-end, darker shadows. Although I wouldn't tell someone to rush out and buy this, I feel that the low price sort of justifies the few nice shades that I can use. The only negative I have on this product is that it doesn’t have a swivel at the end for you to twist it up. Manual sharpening of the product leads to wastage and isn’t easy as the stick doesn’t fit most makeup sharpeners. The packaging is a playful tin with 6 shadows that blend well and the packaging has even got a mirror. My only three drawbacks is that there is no shadow to ground the palette, a transition shade that you can use in the crease and the black liner / smoker shadow has got glitter in it, I would have preferred a matte black shadow. The last drawback is that the steel rod that keeps the lid and the bottom together came loose very quickly and now its a nightmare to work with my palette if Im not careful. All in all this is a great playful palette that you can create multiple gorgeous eye looks with. I do have to say that this palette is great but not very versatile, color wise, you can only create pink/purple looks. I'd also like some more matt shades, although the shimmers are gorgeous! The lighter shades in the palette are better quality. But however, I can see how this palette may not be for everyone. To start off with, this palette cost more than some peoples paychecks. I certainly had to save up for it. The quality and pigmentation of the eyeshadows is nothing less than what you would expect for a palette of its price. But I do not recommend this palette to a person that is just starting out makeup. I see this palette more for avid makeup lovers like myself. The reason for this is because the shadows can be a bit hard to blend and move around with the wrong brush and wrong methods of applying it. You can go from sweet to va va voom in a matter of seconds. Sketch is a velvet formula and blends out like a dream. You do get a bit of fallout, but with the pay-off of this shadow, I can look past that. It is extremely pigmented, so you need less than 1 swipe to do a subtle eye look and only 1/2 swipes to do a more dramatic look. Over an eye shadow primer, it lasts all day. Since you can tone it down - it works all year round. The packaging is very cute and convenient for touch ups (especially with the little mirror in the case). I used Au Naturale 67015 and I loved it, it lasted all day. The shadows are very pigmented and its not powdery like other shadows, which means there's basically no fall out which is a big plus for me. The numbering is very useful for beginners as it guides you on where to place which color. My favorite color would have to be number 1, which I think is absolutely perfect for highlighting the bottom of my eyebrow, the glimmer is amazing. It also comes in Tranquility 67016 which is more blue shades (Au Naturale are browns) and Innocent Sky 70673. Having always seen makeup gurus on YouTube talking about Urban Decay products, especially the "rose hued" Naked 3, I immediately ordered one from the online store (wish they had a bigger selection though). The Naked 3 is everything you would need for a romantic look. The shadows are easily blendible, and pigmented, however the glitter shades do have a lot of fallout, and I find the need to spray my brush with MAC Fix Plus before picking up glitter shadows to make them more intense. I am soooooo in love with the eyeshadow palette. I love my nudes (hehe) because there are so many looks to create from one palette. I will be doing a swatches review on YouTube (that's how much I am loving this product). There are matte and shimmer colours in the palette so it is great a layering eyeshadow look. I found that the colours are quite pigmented, therefore staying on longer and really bringing out the eyes. The best is there Is a great Smokey colour(amazing Smokey eye looks). A liitle trick I use, is to pick up the colour with my eyeshadow brush and then spray some Mac Fix+ on the brush, and then apply it to my lids. It pigments the colour even more and really makes the eyes pop.
