Since 2019 i have used the same hair dye XXL live cosmic blue. Didnt do patch test as I've use this product for the last 2 years every 6 to 8 weeks never had any problem. Until 2 weeks ago. Saturday night I coloured my hair and could of leave it on 10 mins as it was burning. I wake up Sunday and my scalp is on fire and weeping so much my hair is stuck to my scalp. Later on Sunday the side of my head starts swelling. Monday morning I wake up looking like my face has exploded. After spending 6 hours at Birmingham Eye hospital as my eye was that swollen it had closed. Then a further 7 hours in heartlands a&e given steroids antibiotics for a sever allergic reaction. After 3 days the swelling finally went down.. but then I developed a rash all over my body which required further steroids and steroid cream. Over 2 weeks and I'm still feeling the effects of the sever reaction physically and financially.. cost me a fortune in taxis to hospitals and prescriptions charges for 9 different medicines. My left eye is never going to be normal again the swelling and rash has caused skin to sag on my eye lid. I contacted schwarzkopf and they admitted that they changed a perfumed ingredient in the product in May 2021, but didn't put any warning on the box that the product had changed !! If they had put a warning on the box that it had been changed i would of done a patch test. LADIES DO NOT USE XXL LIVE !!!! None of them have impressed me as much as this amazing dye! The product was so easy to use! The instructions will definitely be a help to first-time box dye purchasers. In particular I loved the application bottle. The screw off tip made it so easy to apply and mess free! Usually, with other box dyes, you have to snip the tip off with scissors but not the Schwarzkopf. Sometime box dyes can feel quite harsh on the hair and sting my scalp but I felt no discomfort whilst using this box dye even though I left it on for a bit longer than the time suggested. I love the colour I used! It’s a deep brown and looks slightly auburn when it catches the light. The day after I dyed it, the red undertone was very vibrant but it faded beautifully. Three weeks later, my hair is still just as shiny and healthy as the first day I dyed it! I have an even colour now and I’m obsessed. I also loved the mask provided with the dye! I am a little sceptic about dyeing my hair other colours. Red is such a vibrant colour that's why I opted for the voilet red, cause I knew it wouldn't be such a popping colour on my brown hair. I've always used one other brand on my hair, it was the only brand that gave my hair such a deep nourishing colour. But the Schwarzkopf deluxe colour palete is amazing on any shade of hair. I have been getting such amazing compliments on the colour of my hair, I dont think I'll be using any other dye soon. The colour it gives your hair is amazing. First Impressions The packaging is good its like most other dyes. Like most dyes they have plastic gloves that you have to use that's one size, I have really small hands so I basically had to use latex gloves. Dying my hair From the beginning to the end the due feels so good and nourishing. The paste is the correct texture to cover your whole head but if you do have long and thick hair like me, you'll need to but 2 packs but trust me you won't regret it. The colour is so radiant and you can see your colour change when you are applying it. The nourishing mask that comes with the dye smells so amazing but if you have oily hair you should keep your hair length in mind and apply according to your length. I have washed my hair twice and the colour is still the same, I am really happy about that and it still feels soft and nourishing. After I still need to adjust to the new colour but I am really satisfied with the end result. My hair looks and feels healthy, and it's really shiny. I have received such amazing comments from friends and family Tips If you have long and thick hair but 2 packages. Definitely use dark clothing when dying your hair, colour is really vibrant. Start with your ends rather than your roots, your end takes longer to colour than the roots. HOWEVER, I do not think that this product performed at all. My hair was light already prior to this project, so it was easy to see that VIBRANT RED. This however, only lasted a week. The more I wash my hair, the more the colour becomes dull. I've also noticed that my hair dried out instantly and I'm now using moisturizing products to revive my hair. I do not recommend this product if you're trying to cover up greys, it will not serve it's purpose as my regrowth is showing already just over a week. The shade I chose was "4-99 Attractive Aubergine" The bottom (bleached) part of my hair was coloured using the Schwarzkopf LIVE ULTRA BRIGHTS OR PASTEL Semi-permanent dye in the shade "095 Electric Blue". And the top part of my hair from the roots was dyed using the Palette Attractive Aubergine. The Palette dye left my hair with a rich colour that can best be seen in sunlight; however it has more of a reddish hue than purple. The dye smells great, it's easy to apply, it didn't damage my hair; and the Rich Care Mask left my hair feeling soft and healthy. I wanted to find a product that will do exactly what it says without breaking the bank or my hair. First off the instructions were easy to follow, so I knew what I had to do. While the applicator tip on the bottle made for easy application, I did feel like alot of the product got stuck in the bottle which meant it got wasted. So my hair was a combination of light brown and blonde highlights, I wanted to keep my highlights so I had to colour my entire hair with the brown and redo my highlights. I thought that my hair might get really damaged as I would have to strip off the brown to do my highlights (for this I used the shade silver blonde) but there was little to no breakage at all and by this I was extremely impressed. During the colouring process, there was no strong smell that is usually associated with salon or box dye, which meant no headache for hours afterwards, so thats always a good thing. My regrowth was a lot of greys and it really looked unsightly and I kept my hair in one style just to hide it, after colouring my hair, there wasnt a grey in sight and that was great because now I wear my hair however I want to and I find myself always wanting to touch my hair because its so soft. Confidence levels at 100% :) The hair mask included in the box really is amazing, it made my hair smell great as well as making the colour look vibrant and radiant. The 7 oils in the formula really make for a treat, as with other dyes the hair usually feels dry and lifeless but with the Schwarkopf Palette there was none of that. I am extremely happy with the results and I will definitely be using this product again as well as recommending it to others, based purely on the results as well as the affordability of the hair colour. I chose to challenge myself to dye my hair something closer to my natural shade., with uncertainty of whether I'll be able to handle the drastic change, so I opted for the Chocolate Brown 3-65 shade. Results : At first I was shocked, I wasn't ready for the dark look just yet, but I was amazed, my hair has a monochrome cocoa brown, my blonde highlights have been transformed to a caramel brown. I love the low light and highlight look in my hair at the moment. I had been religiously using a different at-home hair dye brand for over a year which I raved about to all my family and friends as I always get compliments about my hair colour but I'm absolutely sold on the Schwarzkopf Deluxe Palette in Smooth Red Violet. First Impressions: I was not the greatest fan of the packaging but I actually think it's because the box got a little squished on delivery. (The courier company obviously didn't know how excited I was to receive the package and the importance of the contents). I loved the gloves that came with the dye, the hair dye brand I previously used, the quality of the gloves were not great and always broke that I actually bout a box of latex gloves, so that was a big plus for me. Dying my Hair: I don't think I can do the dye justice by explaining how incredibly nourishing it felt on my hair, I have always experienced dye making my hair feel hard while its on but this dye made my hair feels so soft, it felt like I was dying my hair and giving it a treatment at the same time. Since my hair was already a faded red I wasn't expecting a crazy difference but when I saw my hair colour once it was blown I was actually shocked, my hair looked (looks) insanely good (so much adjectives, sorry not sorry). After Dying my Hair: After the second wash my hair still ran red quite a bit that is rather normal for red. I have washed my hair now 4 times and the colour still looks amazing. The mask that comes with dye is very nourishing and makes your hair really soft. I would advise using it sparingly if you have a oily scalp like me, rather focus on the length of your hair. The product was described well. it was also not covered in plastic which I thought was great. The contents of the packaging was good, easy to use, clearly labelled and clear instructions were given as well as warning, however there was an issue of wastage with a bit of the developer emulsion in the applicator bottle and some colour from the applicator bottle so perhaps it would be more effective to use tubing as packaging and include a reusable brush to prevent lots of single use plastics being put out there. The gloves were good quality and reusable if washed. The colour also instantly develops instantly so you don’t have to sit around and wait before applying. The colour creme has a very chemical smell but it’s all put to ease once the developer emulsion is added. Application wise, it was amazing. Extremely easy to use (especially for a beginner like me). The dye leaves your hair smelling amazing. The hair mask leaves your hair feeling extremely nourished as after the colour was rinsed it did feel quite brittle and dry. The fragrance lingers for about a week. The colour on my hair didn't line up with the colour guidelines on the back of the back and that was quite disappointing and misleading. Overall, I am quite pleased with the outcome. If your hair is thicker than normal or longer than your shoulders you should use 2 boxes to avoid getting a mahogany colour instead of plum. The colour is more of a plum than aubergine, as aubergine is an intense purple and this was definitely not intense, it gives darkish hair a plum-like sheen and undertone in the light, not visible in the shade as shown on the box. This should have perhaps been disclosed on the back of the box. It is however extremely simple and wonderful to use. I'm not extremely happy with the wastage from the applicator bottle, the description of colour on the box nor the fact that the hair feels quite dehydrated and brittle a few days after colouring. It's left my hair rather brittle and dull in comparison to my virgin hair. When I signed up for the review, I didn't think I would be this impressed, I mean.. It's a box dye!
