I’ve never been one to try acrylic or false nails, up until a year ago. Before I ventured into the world of acrylic nails, my own nails were very strong and fast-growing. But after I started discontinuing my fake nail usage, I noticed how brittle and especially thin my nails have become. It became evident that the acrylic nails did not do my own nails a favour. I was as so frustrated, and then I remembered what my aunt’s secret was all these years (she has the most beautiful long natural nails), it was Sally Hansen’s Maximum Grown Nail Growth Program! I rushed to the nearest DisChem and payed about R80 for a decent sized bottle of the nail varnish. I got home and immediately applied it to my clean and broken nails. As soon as I applied it, my nails felt sturdier. The box said to apply it every day or every other day, and that’s what I did. Every second day I would clean my nails and reapply the Sally Hansen. About a week in my nails still broke, but it stopped chipping. About two weeks in I could see a real difference, my nail growth rapidly increased and it started looking and feeling healthier. I then stopped applying it every other day but rather used it as an undercoat under any nail varnish. As my nails grew, it broke less and the chipping stopped. Sally Hansen rescued my nails! I couldn’t believe the difference. I would recommend Sally Hansen to anyone and everyone. Now I live with Sally Hansen in my handbag! I am ecstatic with the results! Simply squeeze the tube and gently massage the cuticles with the liquid before pushing them back with the angled cap. It has a very fine grainy texture when applied to nails, so you have to wipe off and gel left on the nail surface before painting your nails. It definitely seems to help with nail strength. To help with my impatient behaviour I decided to give the Avon nail experts ‘Liquid Freeze’ a try. I did my usual routine of clipping; filing; painting, but then I changed things up a bit and I sprayed the liquid freeze on my nails. The bottle has a spraying nozzle for effortless application. It felt as if I sprayed baby oil on my nails because it made my nails as well as the rest of my finger really oily. This was not very pleasant however; I decided to find a silver lining to my oily situation and decided to rub the oil around my cuticles just like you would a cuticle cream. This turned out to be rather therapeutic! For effective results it is best if you hold the bottle roughly 30cm away from your nails to ensure that the formula sprays on all of your nails in one pump rather than having to spray a few times which wastes the product as well as making your fingers too oily. A minute later and my nails were completely dry. The oily residue around my nails absorbed into my skin but I wiped my hands just to be on the safe side. The next time I used the spray I was doing a nail design which required two layers of colours. The freeze was perfect to speed up application time. I first applied the base colour and dried it with the liquid freeze. I then applied the nail art with the second colour followed by the liquid freeze. About a minute later my nails were dry and ready for the final layer of glossy top coat. The freeze does not affect the shine of the gloss or that of matte nail polish. The bottle is a cute, travel friendly, 50 ml plastic bottle which is ideal for pampering on the go. You can carry it around in your bag for when you need to touch up your nails before a meeting or a special date. Over the years I have tried various nail polish drying products but this seems to be my favourite at the moment. Now, I'm not so sure about Sally's "Up to 70% Thicker in 4 Days!" statement, but after two weeks my nails are in a MUCH better condition and are even longer than normal. I have however really put some effort into the re-applying part (you have to do it for 4 days, remove and then repeat). The only down side is that it takes quite some time to completely dry (it initially appears to quickly dry, but is in fact not completely dry). It also tends to make some small bubbles and comes off quite easily. This did not bother me greatly as even despite this my nails look better than without it (i think its the "thicker" part). I would recommend this if you are like me not a very fussy nail person (I think "proper" nail people may have problems with the small bubbles and using it as a base coat) or have very damaged nails. I got home excitedly a few hours later and was super excited to try out this product. I love taking care of myself and find my feet get the second most attention from me. Due to the harshness of winter, driving and using closed shoes for a while now I deserved some pampering. My poor feet were in dire need of an intense treatment that would help soften and moisturize them. I got home, took a shower then patiently soaked my feet in some hot water with peppermint and olive oil. After the soak was done I began reading about this product and how best to use it. The packaging is basic, a dark green rectangular box with lots of white writing and a pair of feet on the front. The product comes in a plastic tube with the same colour combination as the box. The applicator is very narrow and a little amount of product comes out when squeezed. The concentrate is a very similar in colour and texture to Vaseline. When applied it is shiny and oily, the same as Vaseline. It feels like a lot of product is needed to fully cover the sole of your foot but believe me; a little goes a long way. The trick to this product is patience; it’s what’s needed when you massage the concentrate into the most needed areas of your feet. I try to use a pumice stone on the roughest areas before I apply the concentrate and immediately put on a pair of warm socks. I put a pair of cotton socks in the microwave for 10-15 seconds so there gently warmed and don’t burn. It’s a great way to activate any foot treatment and keeps toes toasty :) In conjunction with my Dagget and Ramsdall Heel moisturizing stick this concentrate has become a foot staple in my cupboard. We had the treatment done at Le Fish Spa in Blouberg, very far from where I stay, but O so worth the trip! These weird looking fish worked wonders on my feet :) I placed my feet in a tank filled with look warm water and as soon as my feet entered the water, these little finished literally attacked, and the only way I can describe the feeling is extremely ticklish! It takes some time getting use to it but once you do it feels very pleasant! After about 20minutes in the tank, I removed my feet and proceeded with the pedi. My feet where so soft and smooth with no dry skin in sight. I could only concluded that going for a session of Dr Fish Nibbles is just as effective, if not more, than an exfoliation scrub as they eat all the dead skin cells from your feet. As all Avon nail varnishes and products, they come packaged in a black box with white writing. The conditioner is a light minty green in colour and comes in their signature flat rectangular bottle with white lid. The colour is amazing and so visually appealing that it makes using the product so fun. The light, non-oily and cooling formula helps to ease dry cuticles leaving them instantly hydrated and smooth. It absorbs quickly and leaves no uncomfortable residue behind on nails. On application, the formula is cool and refreshing. Due to it being designed as a normal nail varnish applicator, it makes using it so simple and takes almost no time at all. I do have some criticism though (which I find is most common with my latest Avon purchases). Although the formula says it absorbs quickly; I found it didn’t absorb at all. It didn’t leave an oily un-pleasant residue but it also didn’t quite do its recommended job. My cuticles were still very much harsh looking and didn’t even get properly moisturized enough to be pushed back. I’ve just been using this conditioner as a daily ritual in helping to keep my nails in tip-top condition. I haven’t seen a drastic improvement but I have noticed my cuticles are minimal and my nails are shinier. It helps in keeping my nails looking pristine and well taken care off. There is a lot of this conditioner in the bottle even after 2 weeks of use and so I’m sure this cuticle conditioner will last a really long time. But when the time comes that it does indeed get finished, I unfortunately will not be purchasing another one. The solution is quite oily so if you try apply polish afterwards, it will most likely slide off (mine did). This 'oiliness' is phenomenal at providing long lasting shine to your manicure. I was completely blown away at how it finished off my manicure. It shines just as much as gel polish. I don't know how they do it but the shine lasts for up to 2 days, even when washing my hands! As for the drying time, I could touch the surface after 60 second and it was dry. However, after just 20min, I already had a smudge mark on one of my nails. I'm not that surprised really, why do we always think these quick solutions will work 100%. You cannot get something to speed dry your nail polish. I purchased this cooling foot spray when I purchased the same brands Mud Face Mask. I have to say though that a mere R15 does this no justice. I am devastated to find that mine is almost finished and its now back to R39.95 at Dischem :) I love wearing the trendiest of pumps, peep-toed shoes and closed wedges and tend to shy away from strappy sandals. This means on a regular campus-filled day, my feet are en-closed. Also working weekends in promotions often means the legendary “black pumps look”. This is all fine and comfortable until its time to head home and I’m left with hot, stuffy and tired feet. I suffer from eczema under my feet so am very sensitive to many products. This spray however, did not irritate or affect my skin but left my feet cool, calmed and smelling great. The bottle is white with an aqua green/blue label and writing. It did not come in a box but the lid was plastic sealed to the bottle. The bottle is a chubby in size and boasts a clear lid; through the lid a white spray applicator can be seen. The front label has a pair of “green coloured’ feet. I’m assuming the green, aqua colour collaboration was chosen to tie in with the menthol scent this wonderful spray delivers. The product is made in Italy and so has Italian instructions, but not to worry, as its exported Internationally it carries many other languages including English. The spray applicator is easy to use and doesn’t clog either. The spray is clear and has the same consistency of sprayed water on skin. The formula is safe to use over polished toes as well, as it has never affected the quality of my Pedicure, whether it be nail varnish, gel or gelish. The smell is amazing and instantly refreshes your legs, feet as well as the mind. It’s a very strong mint scent that calms oneself. The spray is cool on application and dries almost instantly. It deodorises and regenerates tired feet and legs whilst achieving a fresh sense of well-being. The directions are simple too; Spray as required over feet and legs. I even use the spray in my shoes after use and then leave them to air in sunlight; this ensures that the next time I plan on using that shoe it already smells clean and fresh. For being an un-known brand it seems to have all their bases covered; the product is dermatologically tested and also being animal friendly. It states that the product is not tested on animals. For the price I paid, for a 100ml, I’d say it was definitely worth the spend, even though at the time it felt like a waste of money. It goes to show that even the cheapest or simple of looking products can achieve results that most luxury brands do not. I have to re-assure myself that paying the full R39.95 is not too bad either as the spray lasts a good 2-3 months and smells fantastic. Applying cuticle oil to your nails the entire time can become a pain so it's fantastic that this cuticle oils stays on your nails way longer and actually has a chance to soak up the good ingredients before being wiped off. My nails have improved drastically since using this cuticle oil. My nails are a lot stronger and they do not have any damage marks (the white stripes often seen when your nails grow out). Cream - It feels a bit greasy but it rubs in well and doesn't leave your feet too greasy. Colour: Scrub - Dark pink with white teeny tiny beads. Cream - Pretty pinkish/purplish, more pink than purple. Application: Scrub - I usually use 2 pea sizes per foot on a foot loofah and gently massage my feet until it looks like I'm wearing foam booties, then rinse it with warm water. Cream - I usually use 2 pea sizes per foot and gently massage it onto my feet until its rubbed in and until my feet looks moisturised. I would definitely recommend these two products. And I gave the product a try. The product is a goldfish yellow in colour, and has slight flecks of gold shimmer, according to Avon, those are actual gold flecks. So you basically apply this product like you would apply nail polish to your nails, the Gold Strength looks and feels like nail polish, oh and smells like nailpolish too! Once try the goldish, yellowish colour which Gold Stength had in the bottle turns clear, with tiny small flecks of gold which can be seen in the sunlight or bright light. I would actually look like clear nailpolish with shimmer in it. Overall the product did make my nails glow like it said it would, and the product made my nails feel smoother, as for the ridges I'm not sure if I just didn't get anymore ridges because I buffed my nails or its just working. So for R39 I would recommend the product, if you find it's not actually working for you then hey! So when you apply the product to your nails it gives a lovely tingle to nails and near your cuticles (probably what they mean when they say the cool feeling) and it feels like a slight slight slight breeze touching nails, which you can't really feel strongly. The best part is to use this as a base coat because it doesn't let any nailpolish stain nails. I promise by that. The product takes a few minutes to dry and then you're ready to go! You can also use the RevitaCool as a top coat to protect your nails colour for a longer lasting. I'd recommend this product to anyone and everyone!
