Just a drop goes a long way. I apply after I shampoo - leave it on my hair for a few minutes while I shower before rinsing.... I do not use or need to use conditioner when applying the mask. It leaves my hair looking and feeling healthier, stronger, and shinier - What i love most is that I usually experience hectic hair fall and since using the Dove - I'm not loosing so much hair every time I wash. It did do a reasonable job and did leave my hair a bit smoother than if I just used my regular conditioner, so it did not bother me that I spend the money on it, however I would not repurchase. After using shampoo and conditioner, I leave this in my hair for five minutes and then rinse out completely. Instantly I can feel the difference to my hair as it is silky and feel a lot more hydrated. Once my hair is dry it is a lot more manageable and stays smooth all day. My hair now has a nice shine to it and smells lovely too. I use this as a treat for my hair over the weekends and it definetly made my hair feel silkier and smoother.I absolutely love this. I have very dry, thick, hair so I needed something to help smooth out these issues. This mask is pretty good, eventually i skipped out the conditioner and went straight to the hair mask, which i was advised not to do. tisk tisk. it really smoothed the hair cuticles down, and did not weigh the hair down or cause build up. By the end of that week my hair was in horrible condition: very dry, dull, easily snagged and broke when brushing and just over-all awful. I was in desperate need of an intense hair mask. So I bought this Dove mask (especially because it had "intensive repair" written on it) and used it and was very happy with the result. It did everything it said it would.
