It's very soft and smooth and glides onto the waterline or eyelid. But because of it's soft consistency it has to be very sharp in order to create a precise line. This eye pencil is a metallic color. The color is black knight. It shows up as more of a dark charcoal color with a slight shine to it, and that's as far as the metallic bit goes. I swatched the gold one in Clicks and that has a slightly more Metallic look to it. But if you want an eyeliner for your waterline then this works nicely. It has average staying power on my eyes. I don't find myself reapplying at all. However there is a bit of smudging if you put too much on.
