Its just amazing how one Beauty name can manage to just keep the good stuff coming and another just kind of get there with one or maybe two of theirs. I don't know who is the Scientist behind all the Essence products but I sure as light want to go and shake his/her hand personally! That said to me the most important part when I look for mascara is the brush. I've got VERY long eyelashes but it lacks in volume so the brush make all the difference. I have found that the silicone brushes separates the lashes the best and clumps the least. And just about all of theirs are made of just that. The Multi Action got a thin silicone brush and the mascara itself says on and does not smudge through the day. I have found with all the other Essence mascaras even if you accidentally rub over them, your liner may smudge but the mascara stay put and that in my books is a big YES. The wand shape and size is perfect for me as I like to do my lower lashes too. The formula does not cause any clumping and it is not as wet as some of their other mascaras. It leaves absolutely no clumps and because of the design, you can coat your lashes from the roots, your lashes dont stick together as it coats them individually, It lengthens and gives an awesome definition to your lashes with a more natural effect . I previously used the volumising mascara and the curl mascara. These mascaras were great but I wanted a mascara with a smaller wand so it could get to my lower lashes and my smaller lashes. The wand on this mascara is great. It's small and gets to every lash. It does not make the lashes stick together and coats them individually, creating longer, thicker and defined lashes. Sometimes, I use another mascara over it just to make my lashes seem longer and more voluminous. However, it is quite drying. After a couple of hours, the mascara is quite dry and sort of 'flakes' off.
