It is mess free and so easy to use. All you have to do is twist the bottom of the pen and the oil (which contains vitamin a, e and aloe vera extracts)is deposited to the brush applicator at the front. One full twist seems to be enough to do the cuticles and nails of one hand/foot. I would suggest you pamper your nails when you have a bit of time on hand as your nails would be oily for a while (even when massaging them) and obviously it will defeat the object if you have to wipe your hands to go wash the dishes! After using this product my cuticles felt softer and more nourished.
