Each brush is incredibly soft and does not shed.

The Blush Brush is an angled brush, and is thinner than the powder brush (as blush brushes tend to be). I usually don't love this about blush brushes, as I prefer a fatter brush with a domed finish as it is easier to distribute the product on your cheeks. However, this is perhaps the first time I've used a typical angled blush brush and enjoyed it, probably because I no longer wear blush on its own; I now add it to the apples of my cheeks above my contour for my everyday makeup look. It is so comfortable to use, and makes blending powder very easy.

The Powder Brush is just as good as the Blush Brush. It is perfect for bronzing, and sometimes I even reach for it when applying my blusher as it is not too fat and big as some bronzing brushes tend to be.

These brushes are a definite favourite for me -- not to mention they come in pretty pastel colours and designs!

I have used a Clinique powder brush which was horrible because it was so coarse. The Essence brush however, blends the blush really nicely, creating a natural color on the cheek. I am really impressed with this brush and will be getting the new powder brush soon.

The white and pink bristles are also super cute!

I am a sucker for pretty products, so it didn't take a lot for me to buy this. The brush is super soft and feels incredible against your face. But all that means nothing if the brush doesn't do it's intended job. I have never used a R400 brush, so I can't compare the quality of the brush, but for me it seems to do the job. I am using it with my Essence blush that I reviewed a while ago. And together they work well.

It isn't a super dense brush, so it moves nicely and shapes to your face as you apply your blush or powder. it was also fairly easy to clean and I haven't experienced any shedding yet. For R40 it's definitely worth it if you need a new inexpensive brush.
