There are 3 shades. A pink shade for blush a brown shade for contour & a golden shade for highlight. The blush & highlighter works good for me but the contour os too light as i am brown skin. But however i mix the contour & blush to give me a beautiful look on the checks. The highlighter obviously gorgeous The only down side is that its chalky! Other wise i love this product. And defintely recommend it? The second shade is a pinkish highlighter and the third a golden, brown highlighter. I have to say ever since I got this palette I have been making use of it! The shades are gorgeous and versatile you could definitely use the matte brown shade as a bronzer. These are so pigmented and they wear quite well, I have used Essence highlighters before and have loved them especially my now damaged Merry Berry highlighter which formed part of their Christmas collection last year and it’s still going strong besides the packaging which is my fault it fell out of my hands so many times but I refuse to part with it. I've bought highlighters from other brands, and they've all worked much better. This is just far too powdery and chalky for my liking, and doesn't give much glow at all. Maybe it would be good for a newbie, who is scared of too much glow? For the affordable price, I was pleasantly surprised at the effectiveness and the beautiful glow! I use this almost everyday as it gives me just the right subtle highlight that I need, without making me look overdone for work. I mix all 3 shades together because i can never decide which one to use and it always gives me a bronzed fresh look that's perfect for summer. I would recommend something a bit more intense for an evening look though. Nowadays where highlight and that crazy shine underneath your eyes is the new "trend", and while you can not afford some pretty expensive brand for highlight, this product is just perfect. It can be used as your daily highlight or just add more to make it for a formal event. I've never ever had an issue with Essence, I literally have all of their products, from concealer sticks, to liquid lipsticks to eyeliners.
