When it comes to cleansing my face, I’ve always preferred a foaming wash. However, the older I get, the more drying I find these kinds of formulas to be.
For the past two weeks, I’ve been trying the Lipidol Cleansing Oil (R79.95), and it’s fast become a favourite.
It effortlessly (and gently) removes my make-up (even longwearing foundation), leaving my skin spotlessly clean and beautifully hydrated.
It’s really easy to use too; simply apply the Lipidol Oil Cleanser is onto dry skin, and then massaged it in. Thereafter add a little water, and the oil start emulsifying into a watery cream. While you could easily rinse it off, I prefer removing mine with a face cloth (as this adds a bit of an exfoliation-like benefit).
You can also use the Lipidol Oil Cleanser on your eyes, but because I have super sensitive eyes, I prefer not to.
The formula combines six essential oils that work to nourish and purify the skin, while Rosemary and neroli oils gives it a fresh smell. I was impressed to see the addition of salicylic acid in the ingredient list, as it’s known to unclog pores, preventing any breakouts.
All in all, I think the Lipidol Cleansing Oil is a great option and for all types of skin, sensitive and oily included, and at R79.99 is excellent value.
