The scent is absolutely amazing and it works so well at getting rid of dry chapped lips, my lips are super soft and smooth after use. You don't use much for an application so the jar lasts a long time. The product isn't exactly cheap but you know you're getting great quality that's cruelty-free! I first bought the bubblegum flavoured one, and when I ran out, I bought the Mint Julips flavour. Both are absolutely amazing! They are so good, I buy them for my friends! What amazes me even more is that these scrubs are actually EDIBLE!!! I use my lip scrub once a week, sometimes more if I am going to be applying matte lipstick. They leave my lips perfectly smooth, not dry because the contain natural oils (even though I still like to apply lip balm afterwards for extra moisture), and help create the perfect canvas for any lipstick. These scrubs are not cheap, but they do last a long time. Due to the trend of matte lipsticks, everyone wants plump, smooth lips. THIS IS YOUR SOLUTION! This was the first ever lip scrub that I tried. All the Lush lip scrubs are R105 and available at Lush stores in SA. One lip scrub costs R105. The price tag is quite heavy, I must admit. However, I feel that due to Lush using only the finest of fresh natural ingredients and the fact that it is handmade, my body is safe from any chemicals. Another thing which I really love, is the sticker at the bottom of the tiny jar that tells you when the lip scrub was made. It also has a personal touch and tells you by whom the product was made. This is sticker is standard for all Lush products that come in tubs. The ingredients in this lip scrub according to the bottle are: caster sugar, Limonene, peppermint oil, vanilla extract and Tagetes oil. Caster sugar is the main exfoliating agent in the lip scrub. The compounds naturally present in the Tagetes oil have been shown to act as antimicrobial and antifungal agents. The peppermint oil really plumps up my lips so wonderfully! I scoop out a small amount on my index finger and rub it on my dry lips. I do not wet my fingertips or lips when I use the scrub because it dissolves the sugar. After scrubbing, my lips feel so heavenly, supple and pink! The taste is my FAVOURITE. Lush describes it as: "a lip-smacking cocktail". I find it so chocolatey and minty. I just lick it off my lips after I scrub them, thats how delicious it is!! The small bottle is a 25g bottle and it lasts me for six months and I scrub my lips three times a week. My kids had such a blast in there playing with all the soaps especially the modelling soap. I ended up buying more stuff for them than I did for me. The 1 thing I did purchase was the Bubblegum lip scrub. Yummy. ... It doesn't only scrub your lips but you can eat it off afterwards and also leaves your lips moisturised. The scrub isn't harsh on your lips at all and it really does taste nice. I love the smell of the bubblegum scrub. With ingredients like castor oil and sugar it leaves lips feeling smooth and silky. At a price of R95 it will last awhile because you don't really need to use a lot. With Lush's Mint Julips lip scrub this can be a reality, as the weather changes and dehydrates our skin it has the same effect on our lips, dehydration, cracking and more, thanks to this product you are moments away from soft, smooth lips. I've been using the product twice a day for roughly a week and have noticed a huge difference in the 'state' of my lips, they are soft, smooth and silky and it can only be caused by Mint Julips. The scrub is 100% natural and safe to eat (they do after all recommend that you lick it off your lips), it has a beautiful minty- vanilla taste and leaves your lips feeling smooth and your breathe feeling fresh. The price is rather high (R95) for the size of the tub, especially as with a good ingredient list you could replicate this or similar at home, but the amount that you 'need' to use is minimal so it will last you a very very long time. I find the best way to apply is to lightly tap my finger on the sugar, I don't dig my finger into the pot and I don't advise you trying to 'scoop' using long nails as you will waste the product.
