It does give a lot of volume at the base of the lashes, but because my lashes are quite long - it does not reach the very tips of my lashes. I did try it alone and over my prep and prime lash primer, but I am still not quite happy with the results. I am yet to layer another mascara over top in the hopes to find the perfect combo. The formula is quite dry and the brush is quite interesting as it is plastic, short and chubby and it actually stores product inside the brush head - therefore distributing more product onto your lashes. In my opinion, I would not try to build this up too much as it can clump up quite quickly. I found that it works very well on the bottom lashes. I think I may repurchase it if I can find another mascara that will work well with it in terms of giving me more length. 09/02/2018 - UPDATE: So, I have had this mascara for a while now and the Benefit lash primer works really well with it, but it is still not giving me life.
