Personally I don't notice the normal self-tan scent cause the yummy chocolate smell is very strong. While you are applying this it literally smells like you are smearing melted chocolate all over your body. You apply this gradual tanner just like a normal body lotion. It's quite thick and takes a few minutes to absorb into your skin. For me this lotion is more like a self tanner and not a gradual tanner. After one application my skin already had a full tan. This meant my first application was streaky as I wasn't expecting that much colour. But my other applications were fine as I put a lot less on. I did notice after showering the next day the tan got a bit patchy, so I felt like I had to use it every day to keep the glow. The colour isn't bad, on some areas it looks more natural then other areas. But like most gradual tanners this eventually looks orange after too many applications. Your skin feels soft and looks magnificent, a perfect summer tan without the hassle of looking orange! I followed my regime of exfoliating and prepping my skin before my first application - within 24 hours there was a noticeable change in the colour of my skin, after my second application I had a perfect tan! I thought it best not to apply on my third day as I already had a fantastic tan! I waited a few days and found that the colour did not fade quickly, in fact it lasted more than a week before I applied it again! This may be dependent on your skin type, I am quite fair and don't tan easily, so this would be perfect for anyone with a fair complexion! This product gets a 10/10 on my 'Beauty on a Budget' list!
