I was still in need of finding a brush that felt like velvet but gave me the air brushed finish. I was introduced to the Real Technique brushes at a Make-up expo and fell in love with the results. I bought myself the Expert Face Brush, The starter kit and the core collection kit from clicks. It set me back a good few pennies, well actually R1800-00 to be correct. I went home like a kid that god a ton of sweets, super excited and eager to play. I took them all out and analysed them in detailed. I had tried each brush out with my different products, that I do have, I played for hours and each time i achieved an Airbrush finish with a soft velvet feel of a brush. I was so impressed i tried it on varies friends to see if the effect is the same. to my surprise... Yes... it was... I don't regret buying them, it just takes a while of saving to buy all the brushes launched by Real Techniques. I've heard of how good the Real Techniques brushes are and decided to invest in this set. When they arrived I was so excited. They are so beautiful and feel like silk on your skin. You can use them for the suggested uses but they are versatile. I love the buffing brush for setting powder and the contour brush for blush or highlighter. The detailer brush can be used with lipstick. I like using the detailer brush for highlighting the inner corner of my eyes. The foundation brush is my favourite from the set. It apples my liquid foundation evenly and feels amazing on my skin. The brushes retain their shape and feel after washing. The case/stand that it comes with makes for easy storage. Real Techniques brushes are available at Clicks stores and range between R299-R599. Yes, they are pricey but they are definitely worth it! The powder brush and the pointed foundation brush and the buffing brush make applying powder and foundation a DREAM! The buffing brush creates that flawless and non "cakey" look and its absolutely a dream to use. They fit comfortably between your fingers, not too thin, not too thick... and the colour is amazing too! The Buffing Brush has taken my foundation game to new heights. I've used it with a couple of different liquid foundations and BB Creams and it gives all of these products a flawless finish on the skin, giving great coverage that is anything but cakey. As for the Contour Brush, I don't actually use it to contour. I honestly prefer my cheap Cala contouring brush for those purposes. But it is AMAZING for powder highlighter and setting under-eye concealer with powder. I'm not totally convinced that the Pointed Foundation Brush and Detailer Brush are as 'essential' as this kit claims. I mean, I do use them... The Pointed Foundation Brush works well for adding some extra foundation coverage to the under-eye area and the Detailer brush is perfect for applying eyeshadow to my bottom lash line. However, I feel that I could have gotten more use out of a Stippling Brush and a Setting/Powder Brush with this collection. Hence my four-star rating for 'Effectiveness.' This will be my only gripe, as these brushes are high-quality and amazingly affordable. I am a convert and will only buy Real Techniques brushes from now on! My heart is set on Starter Brush collection that consists of five eye brushes.
