Until I tried it a second time and saw that it added a bit of a sparkle to the nail. Goodey! A real goodie was that I got it for free when I purchased a gel envy color. Now I'm not sure if this top coat is responsible for the chip and tear free guarantee or not. But it makes my nails sparkle and that's good. I'm not one for top coats and base coats and over coats and under coats. I enjoy using a top coat when doing my nails I just feel it helps my Polish last longer and gives it a gorgeous healthy shine . This gel coat is a thick clear liquid that's applies with such ease. The coat gives a high shine and beautiful gel look. I noticed that this prevents my nails from chipping and it certainly does not allow my mani to fade or peel in a hurry .
