I bought this product for Edgars for R115 because my nails were cracking, splitting and peeling and I was desperate to get them back to peak condition. I applied the gel daily over my bare nails and as a base coat on the days I needed colour on my nails. The gel applied smoothly onto my nails and dried quickly as well. My nails looked really great as long as I applied the gel. However as soon as I stopped using it, my nails seemed to go back to chipping & splitting. The product went on very smoothly and my nails were less prone to breaking. It even worked well as a base coat. Over time however, I found that the calcium gel gets more tacky and harder to apply until eventually it gets hard. So I would recommend using this product within 6 months for best results. When the gel gets tacky, it’s no longer suitable to use as a base coat as it will cause whatever nail varnish you apply next to look streaky and messy. As the product gets older, the tendency to leave “bubbles” also increases. Another downside to this product is that it tends to chip within 3-4 days and when it does, the exposed nail is in danger of breaking off/chipping again.
