Each shadow transforms in 1 of 4 ways, thanks to coated pigments that create multiple effects when wet. I love that the shades of this palette are fairly neutral. They definitely do change when used with water but not drastically, the water activated effects are mostly more intense and great for night looks. Some shades are a little too glittery for me day time even when not activated. Beautifully packaged and contains a mirror on the lid as well as an eyeshadow brush. I find the brush to be a bit thick for precise application though. This palette, like most things Smashbox, is very pricey and definitely not budget friendly. I was so excited and waited with baited breath for it to arrive. It arrived and I excitedly unwrapped my first Smashbox palette. It looks absolutely gorgeous and luxurious but boy was I disappointed. I cannot believe that I spent such a ludicrous amount of money on this pallet. The colours are beautiful to look at but unfortunately that's about it. The brush is mediocre at best and there is so much fallout from the product its sinful. The colours are not very pigmented and you have to put at least 4 layers on for it to show up. Lastly, they are highly unblendable and it always looks as if I have been beaten up when I put on this eyeshadow. If I could send it back, i definitely would. Very dissapointed in Smashbox. The shimmers are in the top row and the matte’s are in the bottom row. I actually like the matte eyeshadows especially the black one. I love how it’s so easy to blend. I disliked the shimmers because it’s lightly pigmented this means you have to apply A LOT of eyeshadow to actually see the glitter. With the matte eyeshadows they also tend to fade after a few hours! I have post-purchase disappointment :-( and I feel like I didn’t get the value for my money.
