I already own a good quality one but this was going for a bargain at Clicks and I just had too. Now I'm finding that I like this better. It heated up in no time and straightens at one go so no need for repetition. I have terribly frizzy and thick hair so it's very difficult to straighten but this baby stood up to the challenge. After straightening my hair looks so sleek and shiny. It's the third day now since straightening and its still looking good . These straighteners come in two cute colours, pink or blue. The width of the straightener is slightly thinner than the conventional straightener so you should straighten smaller sections at a time. The electrical cord that it comes with is fixed (does not swivel), so the cord may get tangled sometimes. It heated up within a reasonable time and the temperature is constant. I find it a bit harder to curl my hair with this straightener because of the square edges. I find it easier to curl hair with a straightener when the edges are curved. I didn't have a straightener, so I thought I would get one as I'm always using my sisters straightener. I like the size of this little baby, as it's very small and easy to travel with. I tried curling my hair with it and it actually turned out really nicely. It also straightens really well. The only problem I have with it, is that my hair keeps getting hooked on something at the top. So when I pull the straightener down through my hair it keeps snagging on something. This is rather annoying, so have to be very careful when I use it. But for my first hair straightener, and for a R199 Toni & Guy straightener, it's really cool.
