It doesn't leave an oily "film" of product on your scalp that is difficult to wash out. The one thing that did bother me was the scent. It has a very herbal-like scent that might be off putting to some people. I suggest using a hair styling spray/creme (applying it to damp hair) that has a nice smell, to cancel out the herbal scent. My hair has felt a lot more manageable and healthy since using the sheer vitality elixir shampoo (with the sheer vitality elixir conditioner as well).
