I first bought this product as soon as it was live on Takealot.com! I was so excited that Essence brought out a cream highlighter, I was over the moon! Do you know what the best thing is about this product and of course every other product from Essence? THE PRICE!!! Of course!
This highlighter is the perfect drugstore highlight, simply because you can wear it by itself, you can wear it on top of your foundation, and you can still apply powder on top of it and it won't lose the glow! Win Win, right?
So the consistency is creamy, and it almost looks like liquid pearls, it's so beautiful!
I love the fact that it's a pure glow you will get out of this product and not so much shimmer, if that makes sense!
You can use this as a cream highlight and then top it off with your favorite powder highlight such as MAC Soft and Gentle, the 2 paired together work amazingly well!
Essence is absolutely thriving!

I am not a huge fan of this one. It just doesn't show up on my skin as much as I would like it to. It also doesn't last very long. I think it would work better on dry skin, but for my oily skin I much rather prefer my MAC beauty powders.

I am developing somewhat of an obsession for highlighters. I love the way it can complete an entire look. I've been wanting to try something other than a powder highlighter, and thought that the cream to powder formula of this one might make the transition into cream highlighters a little more gradual and easy to manage.
The Soo Glow is perfectly pigmented for me, with a finish that makes your skin look like it is glowing from within. It comes in two shades: look on the bright side (10) with yellow undertones, and bright up your life (20) with pink/salmon undertones. Given that my skin is warm with yellow undertones, I went for look on the bright side.
What I love most about this product is the ease with which you can blend it, even with your fingers. It is slightly on the shimmery side, so there is no need to apply too much, which I love. So perfect! Naturally, it's become a daily staple.

I love Essence products because they are so affordable, and when I saw they had highlighters I had to buy one.
I love using this highlighter as a base for a powder highlighter, i like the texture of it, its not to heavy and you can use your ring finger to easily apply it and it blends very nicely

Cream to powder products have always amazed me, but I’ve never been brave enough to try it out. When Essence launched this product in the beginning of the year, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it. I circled the local Ballito Dis-Chem for a few weeks until I got my hands on this beauty.
For weeks after purchasing this highlighter, I just stared at the product, wondering when I’d be willing to test it out. …Three months later, I decided to play around with my new highlighter and gently swirl my fingers in this gorgeously perfect highlighter. Since I’m not really a fan of cream based highlighters, I was amazed to find this highlighter to be absolutely light and silky, rather than how I’d imagine it to be thick and heavy.
As you can see in the swatch, the Soo Glow! highlighter is highly pigmented, while the highlighter has a gorgeous pink tint to it, it leaves a faint glow with refined shimmer for a perfect night time look. After swatching the Soo Glow!, I applied the highlighter to my cheekbones, using a light hand while blending with a beauty blender. Soft natural looking highlight? YES!!! with a stunning pink glow. This cream highlighter got me mesmerised by how it the light caught the pigments and gave skin a natural glow.
Since I have a medium skin tone, I thought the Essence Soo Glow! was a little too much “shimmer princess” for a day time look, but I’m sure if you have a lighter skin tone, it would blend perfectly for a day time look. If you’re an everyday highlighter kind of girl and don’t want to break the bank over a highlighter, I’d definitely recommend this highlighter.
It is simple to use, lasts long on skin, and isn’t thick or oily so skin can breathe perfectly and if all else fails, it feels like magic applying a cream highlighter which fades into a gorgeous powder finish, if that main point doesn’t impress you even a little… I don’t know what will. Make sure you get your hands on the Essence Soo Glow!
